How did you get started in the turf or sports field industry?
Lead weedeater at Lincoln Homestead State Park back in 1998 led to a job at Idle Hour country club, which lead to a job at Uk Athletics 1999-2002, which led to a job with the Pittsburgh Steerers 2002-2003, and then back to UK Athletics 2003-2010 and the Sports Turf Managers positon from 2010-2018.
What led you to a career in sales?
After 19 plus years in Sports Turf and 20 plus years in the industry it was time for me to be a better husband and father, still got a ways to go (LOL)
What do you enjoy most about working with sports field managers?
The relationships with all the people involved; groundskeepers, coaches, event staff, and players even the fans
What problem do you most enjoy helping your customers solve?
Helping groundskeepers gain confidence in themselves and believe in them selves
What makes your approach or perspective unique in this industry?
I had your job or their job, I have been in those positions and shoes before.
Favorite food?
Steak and potato chips
What are you listening to right now?
Old school country, 70’s-80’s
Fun fact about you?
I coach baseball, softball, volunteer video football games, field coordinator for our local girls softball league, and heavily involved in field maintenance at our local baseball little league too
Why do you choose to support KYSFMA?
I helped start the KySFMA in 2001 and served in all capacities in the past, I have seen the peaks and the valleys of the organization in this state.
